Renewable Energy & Wind Farm Cleaning — Scotland

Energy infrastructure does not forgive poor planning. Whether it is a transmission substation or a wind farm compound at the end of an hour-long access road, the programme is driven by energisation and grid connection dates that do not move. A cleaning contractor who turns up late, under-equipped, or without the right tickets is not an inconvenience, it is a programme risk.

M.C.M Cleaning Solutions Ltd works on wind farm and renewable energy projects across Scotland. We mobilise our own directly employed teams, our own transport and our own access equipment, from welfare units and site accommodation through to the substation and control buildings inside the wind farm boundary.

What We Cover on a Substation Site

Switchgear rooms, GIS, control and relay buildings, battery rooms and cable basements within the wind farm boundary. Pre-energisation and handover standard cleaning, with dust control appropriate to live and commissioning electrical environments.

Welfare and site accommodation on Windfarms

Canteens, drying rooms, toilets and shower blocks, site offices and meeting rooms. Scheduled daily, weekly or to your own frequency, with consumables restocked and recorded. Welfare standards are one of the first things a client auditor looks at, and one of the first things a workforce complains about. We treat it as a core service, not an afterthought.

Turbine bases and hardstanding

Clean-down of turbine bases, tower internals at ground level, crane pads and hardstanding. Removal of construction debris, concrete residue and spoil ahead of inspection or handover.

Demobilisation and handover

Full clean-down of buildings and compounds at project end, including sparkle cleans on permanent structures, glazing and cladding, and the clearing of temporary accommodation before it leaves site.

Why Remote Sites Need a Different Contractor

We bring our own access equipment. Our own MEWPs and high-reach systems travel with the team. We do not wait on your plant hire, and we do not tie up your telehandler. Ladders are not our default method of working at height powered access is.

We plan around the weather, not against it. Scheduled works are sequenced so that internal tasks can be brought forward when conditions close in on external work. The team does not stand idle and you do not lose the day.

We manage water and waste responsibly. Wind farm sites frequently sit within peatland, protected habitat or controlled catchment areas. Wash-down methods, containment and disposal routes are agreed with your environmental manager before we start, not improvised on the day.

We staff the job properly. Our operatives are directly employed by M.C.M not agency, not subcontracted. We hold a cover team for sickness and holidays, so the service does not stop when one person is off.

We arrive inducted and ticketed. Black CSCS cards, IPAF certification, face-fit testing and health surveillance are in place before mobilisation. Your site team should not be chasing paperwork on day one.

What You Receive as the Contractor

  • Site-specific RAMS issued in advance of mobilisation, not on arrival
  • A single named point of contact for the duration of the project
  • Signed-off cleaning records per area, suitable for your handover file
  • Photographic records of completed areas on request
  • COSHH assessments and product data sheets for everything we bring on site
  • Full accreditation and insurance pack supplied at pre-qualification
  • A fixed price against a defined scope, no day-rate creep

Accreditations and Compliance

M.C.M Cleaning Solutions Ltd holds SSIP, Constructionline Gold, CHAS and SMAS Worksafe accreditation. Public, employers’ and product liability insurance are all current and certificates are available on request.

Our health and safety management system is built to CDM 2015. Operatives work under documented method statements, with face-fit testing and health surveillance programmes in place. We commit to the Fair Work First criteria in all public sector submissions.

Who We Work With

We work as a specialist subcontractor to principal contractors delivering transmission, substation and renewable energy infrastructure in Scotland. Our teams operate on live construction sites alongside civils, M&E and commissioning contractors, and are accustomed to permit systems, restricted access and phased handovers.

Led From a Different Background

M.C.M is led by Michelle Maire, a former registered surgical nurse. The standards that apply in an operating theatre, documented process, controlled contamination, verified outcomes are the standards we brought into industrial cleaning. It is why our sign-off records exist, why our chemical handling is controlled, and why our teams are trained rather than simply issued with equipment.
